. The project consists of 4 outputs: - Output 1 aims to address recommendations on the policy level on topics such as decar-bonization, circular economy, traceability or transparency and data collection. Based on these discussions, policy recommendations are supposed to be drafted and agreed upon. - Output 2 aims at operational level to support authorities such as the Export Promotion Bu-reau (EPB) and the Department of Environment (DoE) in the development and implemen-tation of policy instruments to strengthen the readiness for EU sustainability requirements. - Ouput 3, which relates to the core of the present tender, aims to support the textile and garment industry in implementing climate mitigation measures. The assumption is that car-bon accounting and climate mitigation measures are currently most relevant for more expe-rienced direct suppliers, who are members of the export-oriented associations (Tier 1). - Output 4 aims to promoting mechanisms through which textile and garment industry work-ers, especially women, can advocate for gender equality in their work and living environ-ments. In this context, GIZ is seeking to commission a contractor (and a local partner) to provide a range of specialised GHG emission reduction advisory services expertise relating to six pack-ages of services: (1) Inception and Training of Trainer- Phase Capacitating local consulting firms and associations in the field of climate mitigation utilizing internationally recognized methodologies (e.g. decarbonization, climate action plans) (2) Selecting Factories - Phase Designing and implementing a selection process of the factories to be addressed (3) Factory based assessment and Implementation Plans Supporting factories to design a climate management assessment and implementation plan, (4) Accompanying the implementation of GHG emission reduction measures supporting factories in implementing emission reduction measures, (5) Disseminating the results of the previous work packages This includes a thorough documentation, storytelling and engaging in an award process and ceremony, and (6) Connecting with the policy level Connecting the factory interventions with advisory for the Governmental partners on specific topics related to the EU Green Deal.
Measuring greenhouse gas emissions is a critical first step in strategically reducing the carbon footprint of corporate activities. In Europe and other important markets, companies are (or will be) requested to ensure that they measure the GHG emissions generated by their business activities. Production facilities or suppliers in Bangladesh are or will be reporting their emissions as Scope 3 emissions from their buyers and brands. Suppliers will be benefited if they assess their climate impact and create cost-effective emission reduction plans. Therefore, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is seeking a contractor to implement "Implementation of climate mitigation measures in collaboration with the textile/RMG industry in Bangladesh", which is part of the Sustainability in the Textile and Leather Industry (STILE) II project. The objective of the STILE II project is that "Public and private actors have implemented measures to modernize Bangladesh"s textile and RMG industry in line with the sustainability requirements of the EU". In this context, GIZ is seeking to commission a contractor (and a local partner) to provide expertise relating to six packages of services: (1) capacitate local consulting firms and associations in the field of climate mitigation utilizing internationally recognized methodologies (e.g. decarbonization, climate action plans), (2) design and implement a selection process of the factories to be addressed, (3) supporting factories to design a climate management assessment and implementation plan, (4) supporting factories in implementing emission reduction measures, (5) disseminating the results of the previous work package by engaging in an award process and ceremony, and (6) connect the factory interventions with advisory for the Governmental partners on specific topics related to the EU Green Deal.
