General Contractor Services, German Embassy Rabat

The Federal Republic of Germany intends to construct a new building for the chancellery and visa office of the German Embassy in Rabat. General Contractor Services are requested. The gross floor area is approx. 5,510 m2, the gross volume approx. 23,403 m3. The new building has 2 storeys above ground, 1 basement, a flat roof and ancillary bldgs. The two storeys house the offices, the basement the technical rooms and storage areas. An internal courtyard provides access to the offices, two canopied garden courtyards are foreseen, as well as a larger chancellery garden incorporating a designed wadi for emergency drainage water. A smaller visa garden is for the clients and visa applicants. A sustainable wastewater treatment by constructed wetland and a car parking lot is foreseen. The basic structure is comb-shaped, with concrete load-bearing structure to fulfill local seismic requirements. External, some internal walls and inner columns are of RC. Other internal walls are brickwork, non-loadbearing walls are plasterboard. For windows, doors and facades, an increased level of protection for burglary and bullet resistance is foreseen, the window and door profiles are of metal. Safety features and equipment, as well as security elements shall comply to German standards and shall be imported from Germany or EU. The Project Language is English,the currency of payment will be MAD. The contract is based on the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction (Red Book), First Edition 1999 in English. The Particular Conditions (PC) to the FIDIC CoC for Constr. (RedBook) 1999, will be included with the 2nd Stage of the award procedure (bidding phase) and are negotiable.
